Bridge Street Toys recently launched a collection of new industrial building sets of an ice cream factory, an oil refinery, a water treatment plant, and other industrial structures, which have working tanks, pipes, valves, and pumps for water management.
I think the concept is good, but I just wish Bridge Street’s website did a better job of selling them. There should be better images, and video demonstrations.

A cool laser game with an Egyptian fire theme is re-branded this season as Khet, the Egyptian word for fire. It’s chess meets checkers meets laser tag! Mirrors need to be arranged on the board in such a way that a laser is reflected to hit your opponents Pharaoh piece.

One of my tricks for waking up in the morning is to place the alarm clock on the opposite side of the room, so I quite literally have to get out of bed to turn it off. Otherwise, it’s too tempting to reach over, and turn it off, and go back to sleep. I’m delighted to see the flying alarm clock, which launches from its base and flies around the room making an annoying buzzing sound until you get up and place it back on its base, or it runs out of batteries and possibly crashes into you!
