Check out this incredible NYT story about emerging printer technology, which can print 3d objects such as housewares, toys etc. from home. 3 dimensional designs will be downloaded from the Internet, and everything from a customized Barbie dolls to a replacement dishwasher rack will conceivably be possible to inexpensively create at home. Bill Gross’ IdeaLab company Desktop Factory is an early pioneer.
